All candidates for rig and support positions will be subject to an integrity assessment, hair follicle drug test and physical abilities test.
Working conditions for all rig positions
Extreme weather conditions – Temperatures range from below freezing to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 12 hours.
Loud noise – Protective hearing equipment required in some locations.
Pollutants that may adversely affect the skin and/or respiratory system – Protective equipment required in some circumstances.
Moving machinery, exposure to electricity, and continuous vibration.
May have to walk and work in deep mud.
May have to travel and stay from home for up to seven days or more as rigs change location.
Physical requirements for all rig positions
Must be capable of:
Lifting at least 100 pounds.
Working on rig equipment up to 150 feet above ground level.
Standing for extended periods of time.
Crouching and stooping.
Pushing and pulling heavy equipment.

Floorhand
Works rig floor and assists with rig-up, rig-down and maintaining rotary equipment. Duties will include washing, cleaning, some mechanical repairs, and other manual tasks as required.
Motorman
Maintains all motors on the rig, checking oil, oil pressure, temperature, fuel pressure and radiator water level, and recording findings in a daily report. Works rig floor and throughout rig location to maintain engines, as well as working rig floor during tripping, casing or drilling operations. Must be able to rig-up, rig-down, and maintain rotary equipment.
Derrickman
Works in the derrick, handling upper end of drill stem as it is being hoisted out of or lowered into the hole. Mixes chemicals and oversees pit and mud pump operations. Must be able to rig-up, rig-down, and maintain rotary equipment. Conducts regular inspection of derrick mast and crown section. Inspects and maintains all climbing and fall protection devices.
Driller
In charge of drilling crew and operation of drilling and hoisting equipment. Assigns and oversees daily routine tasks to drilling crew. Also responsible for downhole tools and pipe measurements. Promotes safety on the rig.
Rig Manager
Responsible for daily rig functions, crew, and performance results, including hiring and terminating of employees. Responsible for customer contact. Schedules and oversees moving and setting up of the rig on location. Helps manage operating costs on a daily basis. Promotes safety and provides a safe workplace
